Our approach
Useful context. Honest recommendations.
A recommendation should help you decide whether a book fits you. It should also be clear about what supports that recommendation.
What we look for.
Our editorial starting points are the intended reader, language, edition, format, and availability. For manga, that also means volume order and collected editions. For Kindle books, it means paying attention to the digital edition rather than assuming it matches every print listing.
What “review” should mean.
A researched introduction is not the same as a first-hand review. Future articles should identify their basis and distinguish publisher information from personal reading impressions. We do not invent ratings, reader testimonials, or claims of having read a book.
Keep the important details visible.
We aim to keep major spoilers out of introductory recommendations and to make edition differences clear. Prices and availability can change; check the current retailer listing before purchasing.
Commercial relationships.
Hondana Reads is not currently a participant in Amazon Associates. The launch pages do not contain affiliate purchase links or sponsored recommendations. If we introduce affiliate links or sponsored content later, the relevant relationship will be disclosed clearly.
Room to improve.
This site is at its beginning. Current pages provide general reading guidance rather than a finished catalog of recommended titles. New recommendation articles will be added separately as the research develops.
